The Excellent Taste Awards exist for one reason: to give small and large producers alike an honest, comparable read on the quality of what they make. Every entry arrives at the tasting room coded and anonymous — no label, no story, no price.
Panels of chefs, sommeliers, buyers, master cheesemakers and food scientists score each sample on a 100-point sensory sheet. Medals are awarded on absolute merit, so a category can produce many Platinum winners — or none at all.
Alongside the Excellent Taste Awards, the Mediterranean Taste Awards honour products rooted in the Mediterranean culinary tradition.

How a product becomes award-winning

Producers register products online. Each entry is coded and stripped of all branding before it reaches the tasting room.

Blind tasting
Panels of chefs, sommeliers, buyers and food scientists assess every sample without knowing origin, brand or price.

Scoring
Appearance, aroma, texture, taste, balance and finish are scored independently on a 100-point sensory sheet.

Award & feedback
Medals are issued on absolute merit — never on quota. Every entrant receives the panel's written tasting notes.
